Architectural photographers aim to combine a designer’s specific message with a legible narrative of the space, the place, the construction and the use. Some images move beyond this utilitarian approach to become works of art in their own right. Esto often deals with descriptive material and now seeks to highlight the role that an image’s strength and beauty play in its functionality.
This exhibit also marks the inaugural release of the first volume of Esto Editions, a select number of strong, engaging images now available as limited-edition, fine-art prints. The photographers are Francis Dzikowski, Jeff Goldberg, Anton Grassl, Peter Mauss, David Sundberg and Albert Vecerka.
Esto is the primary source for images of architecture and design. For more than 20 years, Esto has represented a group of photographers that concentrates on architecture, design and the built environment. The collection is built around the work of Ezra Stoller (1915–2004) who is considered the dean of American architectural photographers.
